The legend about founding the town by Caesar became a motive for building a Baroque fountain with an equestrian statue on today's Upper Square in 1725. The author of the fountain was Václav Render and the author of the statue is Jan Jiří Schauberger
In the fourth part of his book "Mirror of the Margraviate of Moravia", Bartoloměj Paprocký of Hloholy also discusses the question of founding of Olomouc: "As it is a long time ago, nobody truly knows of the exact founding of the town. It has been a mystery since the time of Julius Caesar who is believed by some to have founded the town."
